Each year over 300 volunteers with NH Tax-Aide assist more than 19,000 taxpayers with their tax returns. We are looking for compassionate and friendly people to join our volunteer team for the upcoming tax season. We'll provide the training and support to help you learn new skills, and you'll get a great feeling from helping those in need. This year we will continue to offer NO CONTACT or entirely VIRTUAL tax services while hoping to meet in person with volunteers and taxpayers once again. There will be an option for you if your situation permits. We have many roles that don’t involve preparing taxes. Are any of the following roles a good fit for you?
Tax Preparers/Counselors work with taxpayers directly by filling out tax returns. If you have no previous experience, you’ll get the training you need and will also receive IRS certification.
Client Facilitators welcome taxpayers and assist with coordination of taxpayers at local sites, help organize their paperwork, and manage the overall flow of service. Managing taxpayer appointments from the comfort of your home is also an option!
Technology Coordinators assist with site equipment, website development, network and/or WIFI setups, appointment scheduling and database set-up at the local and district levels.
Communication Coordinators recruit volunteers and market the program to prospective volunteers at the local level.
Administrative Coordinators assist with recordkeeping at the district level.
Tax law and software instructors are needed as well as those willing to present administrative policies and procedures.
Speak a second language? We have a big demand for bilingual speakers in all roles, especially dedicated interpreters who can assist other volunteers.
