Who We Are

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free in-person and online tax preparation assistance to low- and moderate-income taxpayers nationwide. Because of the complexity of the U.S. tax code, many taxpayers overpay their taxes or turn to paid tax services they cannot afford. Some may forgo filing their taxes and miss out on the credits and deductions they’ve earned because they are unable to pay for assistance. Tax-Aide volunteers can help by providing necessary services right in their communities.

Nationally, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has more than 35,000 volunteers in 5,000 locations in neighborhood libraries, malls, banks, community centers and senior centers. There’s no fee and no sales pitch for other services and AARP membership is not required.

What We Do

NH Tax-Aide has over 300 volunteers who have helped more than 19,000 community members with the preparation of their tax returns. NH Tax-Aide has kicked off recruitment for the upcoming tax season.  The program is looking for individuals to volunteer virtually or in person in a number of roles to provide help to taxpayers. The program is especially focused on taxpayers who are 50 or older and are low-to-moderate income.
