Patient Companion Volunteers Sought for Hospice Patients

A compassionate presence can make all the difference. Whether sharing stories, reading aloud, playing a favorite game, or simply sitting quietly together, patient companion volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and reassurance to hospice patients and their families during one of life's most meaningful journeys. Granite VNA is seeking caring Patient Companion Volunteers to visit hospice patients in their homes, at long-term care facilities, and at the Granite VNA Hospice House. Volunteers offer emotional support, a listening ear, and a calming presence while giving family caregivers an opportunity to rest or tend to personal needs. No medical or hands-on care is provided—your greatest gift is simply being there. Volunteer opportunities are available in both the Concord area and the Lakes Region. All Patient Companion Volunteers are required to complete Granite VNA's volunteer training program before beginning visits.
