Description

Like dirt? Trees? Mild manual labor with great company?
Join the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum Grounds Committee!

The Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum (MKIM) sits on 12 acres of scenic New Hampshire hillside, with stunning views of the Mink Hills and enough fresh air to knock your socks off. We’ve got trails, trees, gardens—and a to-do list longer than a black bear’s nap.

That’s where you come in. We’re looking for folks who:

·      Like being outside more than being on Zoom

·      Think pulling invasive plants is oddly satisfying

·      Have mowing experience

·      Want to help a one-of-a-kind museum stay beautiful and welcoming

The work is rewarding and varied: improving paths through our beloved Medicine Woods (in fact, we’re going to build a new Accessible Trail this year), caring for our 60-species Arboretum, planting native greenery, and keeping nature from going too “wild kingdom.”

Have pruning shears or a chainsaw? You’ll be our hero.
No equipment but willing hands and good humor? Also heroic.

We mostly get our hands dirty between April and October, but we do sneak in a few planning meetings during the colder months (preferably indoors and near snacks). Whether you can pitch in regularly or just now and then, we’d love to have you on the team.

To volunteer, email info@indianmuseum.org or call our office at 603-456-2600

Come join the fun. Get some sun. Maybe meet a frog.
Help us keep MKIM looking great—one weed at a time.
