Why should you volunteer at Meals on Wheels?
We all know what it feels like to be lonely - and to be hungry not just for a meal, but for the nourishment that comes from personal connection. That’s where you and Meals on Wheels come in. By becoming a volunteer, you’ll deliver a meal, provide a friendly visit, and offer a safety check to homebound and disabled adults who may not have contact with another person all day. You’ll join more than 250 local volunteers and more than two million others nationally - working collectively throughout the U.S. to make sure the older adults who took care of us aren’t forgotten, hungry or alone. It doesn’t take much from each of us to improve the lives of so many. Together, we can make a huge difference for the homebound and disabled adults in our community.
Just a few hours of your assistance, typically between 9:30 am and 12 pm can help your neighbors remain healthy and live independently at home.
We currently have a need for 2 drivers on Wednesdays, and one driver on Thursdays.
Volunteer individually or as a part of a team on a rotating cycle. Training is provided. Please call Sean at 603-424-9967 or email volunteers@hcmow.org to learn more about how you can volunteer in your community!
