Description

ow that the high heat of summer is behind us, it's time to take out the hiking gear, hit the trail and enjoy the cooler temps. Over the next few months, there will be a hike scheduled each week. This is a great opportunity to learn about the Squam Ranger program, meet other folks interested in hiking, and enjoy a day out on the trail. This hike starts at the Eagle Cliff Trail trailhead located on Squam Lake Road (named Bean Road in Center Harbor) and is a 5 mile round trip hike that climbs moderate and steep grades to Eagle Cliff (.6 miles) and continues to Red Hill with great views from the fire tower. There is also the option to take the Teedie Trail on the way back and have a short road walk back to the Eagle Cliff Trail parking area.  Hike as much or as little as you'd like. Timing is hard to predict since it depends on the hikers so we may end a bit earlier or go later. Folks are welcome to hike at there own pace as this is not intended to be a guided hike.

Hikers should bring appropriate clothing, water, and food.
