Join the SLA for a guided loop hike up to the East Rattlesnake viewpoint above Squam Lake, where participants will have the opportunity to create nature inspired art while enjoying a beautiful view of the lake in full fall foliage. This hike is open to all ages. The loop we are hiking is about 1.5 miles, and has some steep sections. We will meet at the SLA for brief introductions, and from there we will carpool to the trailhead on Pine Hurst Road (there is limited parking). We will hike up Col Trail, then we’ll follow Ridge Trail to the viewpoint on East Rattlesnake. We will settle in at the viewpoint to create nature inspired art, so bring whichever mediums you like to work with, be it writing, painting, sketching, photography, or drawing! Feel free to bring a snack along as well. Afterwards, everyone will have the chance to share what they created, and what inspired them. We will complete our loop by descending down East Rattlesnake Trail, and we will carpool back to the SLA.
Participants should wear weather/hiking appropriate shoes/clothing, bring any and all art mediums that you like to work with (e.g. colored pencils, sketch books, paints and brushes, writing materials, cameras, you name it!), water, a snack (if desired). No artistic skill required and we will have extra art supplies for folks to use as well!
