Do you have a few hours each month to support a meaningful cause? The New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Association (NHVCA) is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Board of Directors.
Our Mission:
The New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Association (NHVCA) is a voluntary non-profit organization that performs the following to enhance the mission of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery:
- Partners with the NHSVC Director and Staff to support operations and improvements.
- Enhances public awareness and appreciation of the value of veterans and their service by maintaining the Veterans Heritage Learning Center, providing publications, hosting ceremonial events, and conducting other community outreach functions.
- Accepts, manages, and expends funds and resources to support the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
Supports and partners with Veterans Service Organizations to benefit the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
What we do | Key achievements
- Installed a new HVAC system with air conditioning in the Chapel
- Designed, raised funds, and built the 20 Points of NH Military History Walkway
- Commissioned and installed stained glass windows in the Chapel.
- Secured donated funds for the fertilization of the Cemetery turf during budget shortfalls,
- Fund IT support for Cemetery computers and systems.
- Acquired essential equipment, including a 1-ton utility dump truck, multiple ground utility vehicles, and an earth screener.
- Purchased and donated to the State of NH the 3-acre lot across from the Cemetery entrance to protect the serenity of the cemetery and provide overflow parking.
- Funded the replacement of all the deteriorating bricks on the Memorial Walkway with new engraved bricks
- Raised the funds, designed, and built the NH Veterans Heritage Learning Center, and now provide ongoing management and operations support. Have developed educational programs for schools and organizations throughout New Hampshire.
- Repaired the Army Monument and established a fund to help maintain all the Walkway monuments
- Worked with major donors to replace the gazebo and provide quiet electric utility vehicles
- Funded replacing and upgrading the grave locator kiosk in the Administration Building vestibule
- Conducts public outreach and fundraising activities and supports ceremonies and events at the Cemetery.
