Description

Help Make the Events People Love Happen

Volunteer with the Events Committee at Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum (MKIM)

People talk about Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum's events for a reason.

From the energy of the Powwow to the warmth of the Harvest Moon Festival, from hands-on workshops to engaging talks, MKIM events are where culture, community, and connection come alive. They are memorable, joyful, and meaningful—and they don’t happen without a small group of dedicated volunteers working behind the scenes.

We are looking for people to join the Events Committee and help keep these much-loved events thriving.

Why This Is a Great Way to Get Involved

  • You’ll be part of creating events people genuinely look forward to

  • You’ll work with a friendly, collaborative team that values ideas and initiative

  • You’ll see the direct impact of your time and effort—often the same day

This Role Is a Good Fit If You:

  • Enjoy seeing an event come together from start to finish

  • Like working with people and solving practical problems

  • Can stay flexible when the plan changes (because it always does)

  • Want to support Native culture and community in a tangible way

What’s Involved

  • One short Zoom meeting per month

  • Helping with one or more events each year (set-up, welcoming guests, or behind-the-scenes support)

  • Sharing ideas and helping turn them into real experiences

You don’t need event-planning experience—just a willingness to jump in and be part of something people truly value.
