Are you experienced in bookkeeping or accounting? Do you have a few hours each week to support a meaningful cause? The New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Association (NHVCA) is looking for a dedicated individual to serve as Treasurer and join our Board of Directors.   As Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial health of the NHVCA.

The treasurer's responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the bookkeeping activities for the NHVCA 
  • Participate in a variety of meetings as needed, including but not limited to the finance committee, board of directors, etc.  
  • Prepare reports/analyses related to QuickBooks, Little Green Light, or finances in general as requested by the Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Prepare written communications, including emails, memos, or other correspondence as needed 
  • Learn and use new software programs, tools, and resources as necessary to assist with completing tasks efficiently (Little Green Light, Video conferencing, etc) 
  • Report any issues or concerns about any job-related functions to the Finance Chair and President right away for guidance or assistance, including making suggestions on possible solutions or resolutions  
  • Collaborate with all committees to prepare an annual budget

The role requires 4 to 6 hours per month, depending on the season, which includes board meetings and finance tasks. Most work can be done remotely, although occasional visits to the cemetery office may be necessary to review records. Quarterly board meetings take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen or the National Guard in Concord. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has expertise in finance and accounting (bookkeeping, QuickBooks).
  • Is comfortable with online communication and digital tools.
  • Is passionate about supporting veterans and contributing to the success of the NHVCA.
