Description

Have you ever wanted to be part of faire, but didn’t know where to start? Volunteering is a great way to be a part of the faire while meeting all sorts of people, making friends, and helping to raise money for some local charities. There are many volunteer opportunities available, before, during, and after our Faire event.

Help us celebrate our twentieth anniversary and raise lots of money for the New Hampshire Food Bank and Rockingham County Meals on Wheels.

We have many available roles including:

Ticket Booth & Front Gate

Ticket Booth volunteers sell tickets and handle cash and credit cards in a fast-paced environment. Requires cash handling experience and a commitment to at least two of the four Faire days.

Front gate volunteers stamp hands, track how many patrons come through the gate, and welcome patrons to the Faire. You may also assist Security with “peace-binding” weapons.

General Team

Keep the grounds clean, collect trash, fill water coolers, and pitch in where needed. This is a physically active job involving some heavy lifting and a lot of walking. Perk: you’ll see a lot of the Faire festivities!

Information and Merchandise Booth

Answer questions regarding the Faire, organize and hand out programs and maps, check in volunteers, assist in locating staff for other check-ins. Stock and sell our NHRF branded merchandise. Requires experience with cash handling in a retail setting.

First Aid

Certified personnel will triage injuries, notify the appropriate responders, and assist as appropriate. Requires current certified/licensed EMT, paramedic, nurse, etc.

Hospitality & Green Room

Bring snacks and water around to vendors, performers, and volunteers. Cover vendors for quick (e.g. 5 minute) privy or errand breaks if needed, assist in the Green Room, and possibly assist other teams as needed. This role involves a lot of walking and requires the ability to carry potentially heavy items (e.g. water jugs) while traversing the Faire grounds. Perk: you’ll see a lot of the Faire festivities!

We’ve got a Green Room just for our volunteers and performers, stocked with lots of donated food. Help set up and break down the Green Room, and work through the day to keep the food and supplies safe and stocked. Generally this is a quiet, low-stress job away from the Faire festivities.
