Cornerstone empowers children in the Upper Valley to become strong readers, thinkers, and leaders with an equitable, free, literacy-first public education. Our vision is of a future where all children rise with the power of literacy.
Cornerstone Chartered Public School was co-founded in 2024 by Lynne Howard, Lindsay Wadleigh, Dr. Hollace Bristol, and Adam Bristol— three educators and one business leader from different backgrounds, united by a single purpose: to improve literacy outcomes for all children, enabling them to become lifelong learners and skilled critical thinkers.
What We Do
Cornerstone Chartered Public School is a tuition-free, open-enrollment, K–8 public school serving New Hampshire's Upper Valley. As the only charter school within 50 miles of Lebanon, Cornerstone provides families in northern Sullivan and southern Grafton counties with a high-quality, equitable public school option that unlocks every child's potential.
Grounded in the Science of Reading, every student at Cornerstone learns through the Orton-Gillingham Approach, a structured, multisensory, research-based method proven effective for all learners, including those with dyslexia. Our content-rich curriculum integrates literacy, math, science, and the arts to build critical thinking and knowledge. Small, multi-age classes foster personalized learning, and every teacher is trained and certified in Orton-Gillingham.
