Sole City Dance was originally founded in 1982 as Arts Rochester by a group of dedicated local arts supporters. Throughout the years it has changed shaped but never lost its' roots in the arts and benefits for the community. Our main artistic focus is on dance. Sole City Dance provides a strong technical foundation in dance in a non-competitive, nonjudgmental environment, for the encouragement of artistic expression. We are currently in a growing stage of our organization and are looking for ways to create more connections within our local community so we can expand our reach. As we progress forward our vision is to become the region's high quality dance education center with deep community ties and a robust scholarship program. As well as continuing to bringing top quality original dance productions to the community.

Arts Rochester, Inc DBA Sole City Dance is an arts nonprofit with a focus in dance. We offer scholarships, and work study opportunities to help make dance more accessible to those within our community. We have run free afterschool dance programs with the Somersworth school district. We bring professional quality productions such as the Nutcracker to our community. With the help of sponsorships we work to keep our ticket prices low to allow more of the community to benefit from this great art form.
