Who We Are

Over the past several decades the way children spend their unstructured time has changed dramatically from one where it was common to be outside spending unstructured time with other children to now being inside where it is "safe" and often isolated from real contact with other children an nature. In our post-pandemic world there is an increasingly urgent social need to get kids socializing together in the outdoors, away from screen and social media which have been shown to cause depression and social isolation in children. Our mission is to reconnect children and young adults with the natural world and provide opportunities for them to interact and grow in healthly ways

What We Do

Lantern Light Camps is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that operates The Wah-Tut-Ca reservation, a 250 acre camp on the shores of Northwood Lake. Our primary mission is to get kids outdoors, in nature, doing activities and growing in ways that cannot be acheived in a classroom, community center or church hall.
