Lydia's House of Hope

Who We Are

Lydia’s House of Hope is a residential program dedicated to helping homeless women and their children move from crisis to stability, and from survival to true independence. Located in Somersworth, New Hampshire, we provide a safe, structured environment where families can begin rebuilding their lives. Since 2016, Lydia’s House of Hope has helped families move from homelessness to wholeness—restoring dignity, strengthening families, and building a future filled with hope. We couldn’t do it without volunteers! From helping with programs and activities to offering mentorship and support, volunteers play a critical role in making our mission possible.

What We Do

Our highly structured 365-day program addresses the root causes of homelessness. Through individualized case management, nurse advocacy, mental health and substance use counseling, legal support, and over 30 educational and life-skills courses, women are equipped with the tools they need to create lasting change for themselves and their children. At Lydia’s House of Hope, we believe transformation happens when practical support meets compassion and community. Mothers are empowered to develop healthy routines, pursue education and employment, and build the skills necessary to live independently. Children experience safety, stability, and the opportunity to grow in a nurturing environment.
