Mission Statement

At Compassus Hospice, our mission is to preserve each patient's dignity while removing the fear associated with dying through pain management, emotional and spiritual support. We deliver our services wherever our patients call home, whether that home is a private home, an apartment, an assisted living community, a skilled nursing center or, in some cases, a hospital.

Our service area includes Exeter, Hampton, Kingston, Newmarket, Rochester, North Conway, Wolfeboro, and Ossipee, to name some of the towns.

Serving as a volunteer will enrich your own life in ways you can't begin to imagine. No previous experience in the medical field is necessary, and you will be prepared for your role with a free, comprehensive training program.

Compassus Hospice offers unique opportunities to make a difference for others at a crucial time in their lives. Volunteers say that the benefits of personal growth -- including a deeper appreciation for life -- are a natural outgrowth of this special work. We are looking for caring individuals to be wonderful companions, provide music, massage, Reiki or pet therapy and support family members. We also need volunteers to read to patients and help them with life review. Administrative volunteers are also needed in the Exeter office.
