Who We Are
We are a 1778 family farm museum that seeks not only to conserve and preserve the artifacts of NH's rural past, but to enquire carefully into the uses of those artifacts, considering the patterns of work and leisure in the daily lives of people who used them. We want both children and adults to enjoy and learn from our many artifacts and historical buildings and grounds. We encourage membership and annual giving to help support our goals. We enhance our presentation by involving costumed guides and involved historians and history buffs who like to bring history alive. We train volunteers to give house tours and are always looking for people to share specific skills that they have that bring alive the history of Colonial, Victorian, Edwardian, World Wars and even up to the period of our last family member in 1970, when we became a museum. We also encourage young people to join our cause and help in a program or tour. We have many school tours and need volunteers to help in small groups. Volunteers who enjoy reading to or working on projects with young children is also encouraged. We hope to see you join our mission and add your skills!
