Music has a unique ability to soothe, comfort, and connect. For hospice patients and their families, a familiar melody or gentle instrumental music can create moments of peace, evoke treasured memories, and bring comfort when words are not enough. Granite VNA is seeking compassionate volunteer musicians to share their talents with hospice patients in their homes or at the Hospice House. Whether you sing, play guitar, piano, harp, violin, flute, or another portable instrument, your gift of music can make a meaningful difference during a patient's end-of-life journey. Volunteers should be comfortable performing in a quiet, intimate setting and adapting their music to each patient's preferences and needs. All music volunteers are required to complete Granite VNA's volunteer training program before beginning patient visits. Whether sharing stories, reading aloud, playing a favorite game, or simply sitting quietly together, patient companion volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and reassurance to hospice patients and their families during one of life's most meaningful journeys. Granite VNA is seeking caring Patient Companion Volunteers to visit hospice patients in their homes, at long-term care facilities, and at the Granite VNA Hospice House. Volunteers offer emotional support, a listening ear, and a calming presence while giving family caregivers an opportunity to rest or tend to personal needs. No medical or hands-on care is provided—your greatest gift is simply being there. Volunteer opportunities are available in both the Concord area and the Lakes Region. All Patient Companion Volunteers are required to complete Granite VNA's volunteer training program before beginning visits. Granite VNA is looking for energetic Street Team volunteers to help promote our Harleys for Hospice raffle by distributing flyers and postcards to businesses throughout the Concord and Laconia areas. This is a flexible, behind-the-scenes opportunity that's perfect for someone who enjoys being out in the community and supporting a great cause. Volunteers will visit local businesses to ask if they will display promotional materials and help raise awareness of this important fundraiser, which supports Granite VNA's hospice programs. No previous experience or volunteer training is required—just a friendly attitude, reliable transportation, and enthusiasm for helping us reach more people. For veterans receiving hospice care, spending time with someone who understands that experience can provide comfort, connection, and an opportunity to reflect on a lifetime of service. Granite VNA is seeking veteran volunteers from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces—as well as community members who are passionate about honoring those who served—to support our veteran patients. Volunteer opportunities range from participating in one-time Veteran Recognition ("Pinning") Ceremonies to providing ongoing companionship through one-on-one visits with veteran hospice patients. All veteran volunteers are required to complete Granite VNA's volunteer training program before serving. Whether you are a veteran yourself or simply want to ensure that no veteran faces the end of life without gratitude and companionship, we invite you to join this meaningful program. A gentle presence can bring comfort in profound ways. Reiki offers many hospice patients an opportunity to experience relaxation, peace, and a sense of well-being during a difficult time. Granite VNA is seeking compassionate Reiki practitioners to provide supportive Reiki sessions for hospice patients in their homes or at the Hospice House as part of our interdisciplinary approach to end-of-life care. Volunteers must provide proof of Reiki Level II certification or higher and complete Granite VNA's volunteer training program before beginning patient visits. The comfort and companionship of a friendly animal can brighten a day, ease anxiety, spark conversation, and bring moments of joy to people facing illness or isolation. Granite VNA is seeking compassionate pet therapy volunteers and their certified therapy dogs to visit hospice patients, home health clients, and community members, helping create meaningful connections one visit at a time. Volunteers must have therapy dog certification through an organization that provides liability insurance for therapy animal teams. In addition, all pet therapy volunteers are required to complete Granite VNA's volunteer training program before beginning visits.
