Together, volunteers and students bridge cultures digitally and inspire and empower each other to reach their potential.

The CareGivers most requested service is the Caring Rides Program. Caring Rides has traditionally worked with homebound seniors throughout the Greater Manchester and Nashua areas and is now expanding into Plaistow! The program provide transportation for seniors to go to and from their medical appointments, trips to the grocery store, pharmacy and so on. This valuable service allows seniors an opportunity to remain living independently in their home.

When a volunteer joins our team, they will have access to a database where they can sign up and provide a ride for a senior in need. There is no mandatory time commitment and volunteers can assist when their schedule allows. Our software provides the details of each ride to assure it is within a distance the volunteer is comfortable to travel. Volunteers have total control over which rides they select.

Albacore Park Submarine Museum is currently seeking a part-time intern to assist with Marketing, Public Relations and Development projects in the summer/fall 2021 semester. Hokuto Taiko Dojo, INC. - New Hampshire's first and only school for Japanese taiko drumming is currently looking for a volunteer Fundraising Coordinator!

Who we are: Hokuto Taiko Dojo is New Hampshire's first and only school dedicated to teaching local communities in and around the Granite State the art of Japanese taiko drumming and cultural exchange.

Hokuto Taiko Dojo, INC. is formally recognized and registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Works with our event director and specific event volunteers to manage the tasks related to successful executive of upcoming events. 

Help us connect with hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes to ensure folks with disabilities in our area know we are a resource for them. We also need help disseminating various items in the community such as donation boxes, giveback RX discount pharmacy cards and charity related collateral. 

The beneficiaries of our support have ongoing needs.  We need a manager that will implement a follow-up routine with our beneficiaries. There is a prefabricated script and specified intervals at which they would need to reach out. Information harvested would be uploaded into the workflow manager Asana (willing to train, pretty easy) for further action by other team members. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with individuals with disabilities and be part of the team that helps to change their lives and circumstances. 

We have a variety of initiatives and campaigns on the horizon from merchandise sales to event promotion to virtual fundraisers etc.  We are looking for a manager to oversee CEO designated quarterly campaigns to keep related website, social media, and emails current and connected.  We want to streamline our campaigns by uniting our marketing methods through the addition of a management volunteer.

We have a number of fundraisers in the queue and are seeking assistance with calls, emails, flyer dissemination, and spreading the word. This can be done remotely.

United Way of Greater Nashua is looking for volunteers with experience in the field of marketing to help with writing projects, graphic design, and web design and maintenance.

United Way of Greater Nashua has placed donation boxes on the counters of stores around the community to collect their customers' spare change. We're looking for volunteers to check on these boxes and to find new stores who would be interested in participating in the program.

We would particularly like some volunteers to be Spanish speakers to work with stores in the Spanish speaking areas of Nashua.

Volunteers will check on their assigned boxes monthly or every few weeks depending on the busy-ness of the store. They will change the box for an empty one and bring the full box to the United Way office.  

Share history! The American Independence Museum (AIM) in Exeter, NH is looking for volunteer museum guides to offer tours of historic Folsom Tavern in 2021. The tour will examine the Tavern’s unique history, the place that taverns held in colonial and revolutionary history and the different experiences that people had in taverns. Tours are designed to share diverse and unique stories of the Revolutionary era in honest, relevant, compassionate and unexpected ways. A commitment to inclusiveness is at the center of our work. Guides will conduct tours, answer guest questions, assist with daily museum operations including opening and closing of the museum.

PostICU, Inc is a new 501(c)3 nonprofit agency, part of our mission is to maintain the only library that is specifically built to house research, articles, videos, PowerPoints, books, etc about post intensive care syndrome ("PICS") website library, see: PostICU's Library

COVID-19 patients, who survive following a stay in an intensive care unit often suffer from PICS. 

PostICU's Library allows us to meet our primary mission, which is to educate medical professionals and the public about PICS.

Sharing knowledge about PICS symptoms that are experienced by former ICU patients, helps medical professionals and people in general recognize whether they or loved ones may have PICS. 

Our library gets thousands of visitors weekly, including medical professionals worldwide. 

In this volunteer position, you will assist us with researching new media to add to our library and also to dig back into older content to research for any media that we are missing.

Since we have the only known PICS library, our work is important. However, we've created forms and training to make the work fun and interesting.

PostICU, Inc is a new 501(c)3 nonprofit agency.

We're working on an interesting project, to collect and organize a articles, studies, research and other materials about post intensive care syndrome ("PICS") and add them to our website.

COVID-19 patients, who survive following a stay in an intensive care unit often suffer from PICS. PostICU's mission includes educating the public about PICS, so that they will be aware of PICS symptoms experienced by former ICU patients, so that should they or loved ones have PICS symptoms, they will know to seek proper care.

We plan to share this new listing of articles with the public on our website and also at aftertheicu.org, a similar website to ours, which was created by one of the PostICU founders along with a team at Brigham & Women's Hospital.

We need your help with organizing our articles and other media into a template spreadsheet which once completed will be uploaded into an online, searchable database. 

We hope to have 200 items to add to the spreadsheet, including a link to a PDF, or other type of file. 

If you have experience using Excel or Google sheets, this volunteer position should be interesting and not take too much of your time.

Project LIFT is seeking a volunteer to assist in the Learning Lounge. The Learning Lounge provides walk-in services to individuals seeking help finding and using digital resources for academic skills improvement and workforce preparation activities such as filling out job applications, writing a resume, and learning computer skills. The interested applicants should be proficient with using computers and cell phones to access digital resources. Experience working with diverse populations would be helpful.

Project LIFT is seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer with fundraising and nonprofit development experience with an emphasis on corporate and foundation giving. Knowledge of adult literacy and workforce preparation is helpful.

This position will be responsible for doing research to identify potential funders, writing letters of intent and grant proposals, and assisting in budget development. This individual must make sure all materials are on hand for grant submissions, be willing to revise grant proposals, and be a compelling writer. The ideal volunteer will also have:

The Greater Nashua Food Council has ongoing needs for volunteers to help with distribution of gleaned produce to community partners and for volunteers to distribute gleaned produce at their mobile food pantry sites throughout Nashua. Each opportunity is only a couple of hours a week. Days and Times depend on gleaning coordinators schedule and mobile pantry operation times.

Many of these efforts would not be possible if not for the many caring volunteers who donate their time and serve as the liaison to the Auxiliary. The Medical Center currently has over 300 volunteers who donate more than 35,000 hours a year in 35 different departments. Their volunteers are men and women of all ages and backgrounds-students, retirees, former patients, and caring people who just want to give back. They look for the right assignment and the right department for all volunteers. A few of the volunteer choices are Coffee or Gift Shop, guest services, office work, data entry, or messenger.

The NH Children’s Behavioral Health wing of New Futures is looking for advocates to share their stories and help advocate for changes to the System of Care for children.

Home Health and Hospice Care is actively seeking Spanish, French or Greek speaking candidates, and welcomes volunteers who speak any language, to help us better serve hospice patients and their loved ones.  It is important for them to have a diverse group of volunteers to support the diverse populations they serve. Their Spring 2020 volunteer training course runs February 26 through May 6, every Wednesday morning from 9am to noon. The class is held in their Merrimack, NH office. HHHC volunteers work closely with the nurses, social workers, and chaplains as part of an interdisciplinary team. They offer companion, pet and music services to their patients as well as transportation, respite, vigil, and adult bereavement support.

The senior companion program is looking for caring, healthy and enthusiastic people to look in on some of the isolated elderly in our neighborhoods.  If you are age 55, have a limited income, and can volunteer 10 hours weekly you might want to consider becoming that committed individual who will visit with two to five people in the community each week.  In addition to the wonderful feeling you will get from helping others, the program also provides a non-taxable stipend.  The non-taxable stipend means money that cannot be weighed against subsidized housing, food stamps or other government subsidies.  Other benefits of being a senior companion volunteer include: mileage reimbursement to and from the visitees home, training, paid snow/heat days and personal days, secondary insurance coverage, and recognition.

Just taking the time to visit with someone, who has found themselves alone because their kids have moved away, a spouse has passed on or their friends have chosen to live in a warmer climate can make all the difference in the world.  You can chose to make that difference to a visitee. The Way Home needs help in a variety of areas. Help is needed in the “Homework Zone” assisting school age children with their schoolwork on one or more weekday between 3:30pm and 4:30pm. They also need help in the “Children’s Workshop” caring for children when their caregivers are attending a class on one weekend evening per month. They are also looking for office support, new fundraising committee members, a Healthy Homes Advocate, help on their maintenance team and are looking for new members of their board of trustees.

Because they cover the whole state, they are always interested in creating connections with industry leaders interested in giving back to the community through providing one-on-one business advising in their area of expertise. And don’t think you have to be woman-identified to lend your time and expertise to our clients – experts of all genders are welcome! Typically, advising clients entails meeting for one hour either in-person or via phone/video conference with one or two clients per month. To recognize the incredible value their community experts bring to their clients, they provide a small stipend for your time.

Girls Inc. is always looking for volunteers to help during after school hours throughout the school year. They need volunteers from 3:00PM - 6:00PM, Monday through Friday. Volunteers work one-on-one with girls providing homework support, assist the staff in Girls Inc. curriculum, or teach a skill they are passionate about. Annual Fundraiser Volunteers - We need help stuffing envelopes, organizing fundraiser list, sending email updates, as well as working at the actual fundraiser.

Although we are a “paperless environment” , there is never-ending paper work.  We are always looking for someone to make our new patient  and school event packets along with clinic patients updates. this task includes photocopying, stapling and filing.  Shredding is a never ending project, as patient privacy is of the UT most importance.    

Weekend volunteers are there to accept donations on Family Promise’s behalf and make sure that emergency situations are properly handled, should they arise. Sometimes, weekend volunteers babysit while parents do chores or help by tidying up around the house. Hours: anytime between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Evening volunteers are responsible for making sure the house is safe and calm before the end of the day. They walk through the house closing the blinds, they turn on the hallway lights, and they babysit little ones before bed-time so that parents can do their chores. Hours: 7-9 PM.

Meal-serving volunteers are responsible for making sure that dinner makes it to the table. They serve an evening meal Monday-Thursday and are there to help get the food from the oven to the table.  Dinners are served buffet style and volunteers are encouraged to spend time with families getting to know the people they’re helping. Hours: 5-7 PM.

The Greater Nashua Dental Connection reaches out to Nashua's elementary school age children and offers oral health care at no charge to the parent or guardian.  This comes with its challenges, we have to get all the paperwork copied, packets made and schedules coordinated,  with our limited staff.  It would be a tremendous help if we could have someone make copies and packets for us.    Allowing us the time to provide the oral health services. 

Volunteers can help the Greater Nashua Food Council and Harvard Pilgrim Health Foundation through Gleaning, Growing, and Distributing fresh produce for underserved community members. 

Gleaning: You will work with NHGleans.org to coordinate picking up produce from local farms and distributing to local food pantries, child care centers, churches, non-profit organizations, community food giving boxes, and to any other places you might see a need for the produce. Fixit Corps volunteers will assist homeowners who are over the age of 60 or disabled by providing minor home repairs that will help the individual stay in their home and remain independent. Some of these repairs can include installing safety rails, repairing minor plumbing and electrical problems, building wheelchair ramps, and other safety or basic wear and tear repairs. 

Volunteers with previous experience in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and other trades are encouraged to pursue this opportunity.

Spend time in our light-filled, air-conditioned galleries, interacting with other people who love art for a few hours every week. Assist at gallery openings, work in our gardens, help in our studios and library--we have plenty of interesting tasks to go around. No art experience required!

At our location we serve dinner 4 days a week from Monday-Thursday. Sadly, we are suffering from a lack of volunteers! We need people who are up to the task of cooking for 35 people. Dinner is served from 6-7, but our ovens are notoriously slow so we also accept meals cooked offsite, or frozen. Come to Monday evening Sinfonietta rehearsals just before 6pm to receive pizza delivery and stay at pizza table through the rehearsals. Assist in serving pizza.

Pick up and deliver donated instruments, new instruments or instruments undergoing repairs. A normal car is adequate and travel is within Nashua NH only.

String players that are in 8th grade or older can share their talents with elementary students.  Once or twice each week the intern practices with the younger students at their schools. (One parent is present.)  Looking for three interns. One for each school; Amherst Street School, Dr. Crisp and Mount Pleasant.  Day of week is flexible.

Do you have access to software that can create newsletters?  Sinfonietta Strings would like to send quarterly newletters to parents, students, donors and interested parties. It would contain a calendar of events and one or two articles. You would not have to write the articles, just put the calendar, pictures and articles in newsletter format.

Do you have a violin, viola or cello that is no longer being used?  Please put it to good use. We have many students with little to no resources to afford an instrument to play on!

The Office of the Long Term Care Ombudsman advocates of people living in Long Term healthcare facilities by visiting residents and resolving complaints related to resident rights and services provided to them.  Certified Ombudsman Volunteer Representatives (COVR's) are representatives of the New Hampshire Long Term Care Ombudsman's Office who visit their assigned facility(s) approximately 2 hours once per week after the completion of a certification class.  The certification process begins with a 30 hour classroom component followed by 10 hours working hand in hand with an experienced mentor.  The certification classes are held in concord at no charge.  Mileage reimbursement is provided at the current federal rate for all approved class time, facility visits, and statewide meetings.

Friendly visits on your schedule, one on one with seniors who may need help reading the newspaper, opening mail, etc.

Join the Belknap House staff as a volunteer!  Belknap House is looking for shelter assistants to help run the shelter and make the shelter welcoming to families.  Volunteers will  work with the Executive Director and Family Support Coordinator.  No experience needed, training will be provided.

Belknap House needs shelter assistants to help  our residents all hours of the day and every day of the week.  The shelter is open from Oct 15th until May 15th and then becomes a hostel over the warmer months.  Day shifts are 6-9am, 9am-1pm, 1-5pm, and 5-10pm.  The overnight shift is 11pm to 7am and will provide opportunities for sleep.    We have an on-going need for assistants and offer training at least once a month based on the availability of those interested.

A stipend-volunteer program, supported by federal and state funds, that pairs seniors with other seniors to offer friendship and support to patients and their families in the community. Qualifying seniors must commit to 15 hours per week and meet specific income criteria. Give a little piece of your time to help brighten someone’s day. Companion Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to provide support, respite and friendship to patients, families and caregivers. Share a cup of tea, play a game of cards, or just share some conversation. Companion volunteering is very flexible to your scheduling needs and you can volunteer as little as 2 hours each week. This volunteer opportunity completes our "Circle of Caring" allowing patients and community members to remain in the comfort of their home.
