Volunteer: Youth Mentors NeededThe Friends Program is looking for committed volunteers to provide a safe place for the youth in the greater Concord area to learn and grow. No education or training is required, just a passion for helping children and being a dependable adult that they can trust. Mentors would be matched with kids based on similar interests and backgrounds to ensure the health of the match and to make getting to know each other easier. Matches would meet at least once a week for a total of 2-4 hours a week with regular check ins from staff to see how things are going for both the mentee and mentor. We will be there every step of the way to support both mentor and mentee and make sure that the match is doing well. Perspective candidates would come in for an interview and need to pass a driving record search, criminal background check, and not have any past convictions relating to child abuse or violence. After one year of the match, mentors and mentees can sign a renewal agreement if they would like to continue meeting through the program.
