Project LIFT is seeking a volunteer to assist in the Learning Lounge. The Learning Lounge provides walk-in services to individuals seeking help finding and using digital resources for academic skills improvement and workforce preparation activities such as filling out job applications, writing a resume, and learning computer skills. The interested applicants should be proficient with using computers and cell phones to access digital resources. Experience working with diverse populations would be helpful.

 Due to the pandemic, Learning Lounge participants are meeting remotely or in small groups with social distancing.

Project LIFT is seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer with fundraising and nonprofit development experience with an emphasis on corporate and foundation giving. Knowledge of adult literacy and workforce preparation is helpful.

This position will be responsible for doing research to identify potential funders, writing letters of intent and grant proposals, and assisting in budget development. This individual must make sure all materials are on hand for grant submissions, be willing to revise grant proposals, and be a compelling writer. The ideal volunteer will also have:

Excellent oral and written communication skills; Computer proficiency; An ability to meet deadlines; An ability to work independently and with staff; Attention to detail and accuracy.
