Join Americorps member Erica Lehner in exploring the geology that lead to the formation of our beautiful Squam Lake. We will meet a the trailhead near the sugar shack for a brief discussion on rock types and the geologic time scale, and how those relate to the lakes region. After this we will hike Livermore Mountain (3 miles round trip), to see if we can see some of those large-scale geologic features along the way. Make sure to bring a hat, sunscreen, rain gear, an extra layer, bug spray, and a snack!
