Comfort Zone is a lot like regular camp! It’s fun. It has all the traditional parts of camp-archery, arts & crafts, canoeing, bonfires, s’mores and more! A unique part of Comfort Zone is we also do work to help kids with their grief. Our programs are free of charge and are offered to children ages 7-17.
What We Do
Founded in 1998, we’re the first-ever nonprofit bereavement camp for kids in the US. What started as one small camp in Virginia has grown into a national organization that has transformed the lives of over 27,000 grieving children!
Today, we offer camps and programs for kids, teens, young adults, and parents. At camp, children experience traditional camp activities while also building coping skills and connecting with peers who understand their grief.
We have a camp program in NH that is free for the kids to attend. We typically have 60-90 volunteers at a camp weekend.
