Who We Are
About Hundred Nights, Inc.
Hundred Nights is a year-round low-barrier emergency shelter and resource center that provides shelter and
crisis-related resources to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness in southwestern
New Hampshire.
The agency was founded in 2010 to provide homeless residents with a warm place to stay during the coldest
one hundred nights of the year when beds were unavailable at other shelters. In its inaugural season, Hundred
Nights, with the help of 51 volunteers, served 96 unique guests from Keene and the surrounding area. Now
over a decade since it first opened its doors, Hundred Nights continues to help those who have no other
option.
What We Do
48-Bed Emergency Shelter
Hundred Nights provides year-round emergency shelter to those in crisis and up to 72 shelter beds per night on the second and third floors of its new facility on Water Street in Keene, NH. We strive to accept as many people in need as possible depending on available beds. Two women’s dorm rooms and private family rooms are on one floor; men’s dorms are on a separate floor. Two overnight shelter supervisors, one per floor, stay awake through the night to ensure the safety and comfort of guests.
Kingsbury Resource Center
The Kingsbury Resource Center (KRC), located on the first floor of the new facility, is open daily to guests and
visitors seeking to warm up, have a meal, or get information about services and programs to help them retain or return to permanent housing.
The center is staffed by a manager who helps clients gain access to basic needs, meals, and services provided by the shelter as well as to programs administered by local and state partners. The KRC has computer workstations for guests to use to search for jobs and housing. The Kingsbury Resource Center is located next to several additional guest resources on the first floor: an office for our case manager to meet privately with guests; a laundry room for guests and visitors to do personal laundry; a full kitchen to provide meals when The Community Kitchen isn’t open; and a donation room for clothing, cold weather gear, and personal care items. We now offer space on the 2nd
floor for partner agencies to provide resources, classes, and mental health counseling.
