Who We Are
We are volunteers from all walks of life. Many live near Portsmouth, but with today's digital capabilities, we have volunteers who live out of state. Our volunteers have a wide variety of professional backgrounds. All are welcome! If you are curious about our group or if you enjoy arts, culture, and history - we would love to hear from you!
The Warner House is a historic house museum open to the public seasonally. It's a fully furnished house with period furniture and decorative arts. Guided tours share the history of the house and the 6 generations of Macpheadrises, Warners, Sherburnes, and Penhallows who lived in the house until it became a museum in 1932.
What We Do
The Warner House Association is a volunteer organization dedicated to promote, protect and preserve the historic brick structure known as the Warner House. We open the house during the summer months to give tours. Amongst the volunteers, there are several committees (Marketing & Programs, Curatorial, Buildings & Grounds, Finance, Governance, and Development) and within those committees are several subcommittees. These committees are also open to members of the Warner House. And many volunteers choose to contribute in other ways besides being on a committee.
